Dynamic Island is the adaptive sensor area at the top of iPhone 14 Pro, 15, and 16 models. Lyrical uses Apple's Live Activity API to surface the currently playing lyric line directly inside Dynamic Island. As the song plays, the text updates in real time — a tiny, always-visible lyric ticker that feels completely native to iOS.
Always visible, never intrusive
Because the lyric lives in Dynamic Island itself, it doesn't take over your screen. You can use other apps, scroll, browse — and your current lyric line remains in view at the top of the display. It's the ideal companion for people who want music awareness without the distraction of a full-screen lyrics view.
Expanding view on tap
Tapping the Dynamic Island area expands it into a larger view where you can see more lyric context, album art, and playback controls. It's a premium experience that takes full advantage of what the hardware makes possible.
Requires iPhone 14 Pro or later
Dynamic Island is a hardware feature available on iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro. If you have an older device, Lyrical still shows lyrics beautifully in the app and on the Lock Screen via Live Activities.
Pair with Live Activities
Dynamic Island and Live Activities work together in Lyrical. When music is playing, the current lyric appears both in the Dynamic Island (on supported devices) and on the Lock Screen — so you always know what's being sung, wherever you look.
